One of the issues in criticising the Conservatives for the tardiness of their approach towards the cost-of-living crisis is that you’re assuming they even have a plan to implement when they do eventually get around to it.
As noted in my previous article, Boris Johnson stated earlier this month - in one of his rare visits to the UK - that there is a plan in place so that the next Prime Minister can ‘hit the ground running’ from the moment they arrive in 10 Downing St.
What the soon-to-be–former Prime Minister doesn’t factor in when it comes to his plan from earlier this year is ‘change’.
In other words, the economic landscape since then has altered quite dramatically - and significantly.
