A striking thing about the campaign to become the new Prime Minister - or at least ‘the campaign so far’ - is the never-ending slew of ridiculous policy pledges and the attempts by both Rishi Sunak and Elizabeth Truss to out-do each other.

One such ridiculous pledge is the continuation of the highly illegal [and extremely costly] Rwanda deportation policy.
