Superfluous, embarrassing and extremely desperate: The attack lines and scattergun approach towards policy is just not working, Prime Minister

Over the past couple of weeks the Conservatives have been stepping up the level of attacks on opposition parties that are so weighted in disbelief you’d be forgiven for thinking that there was a general election happening soon.

Except there isn’t one - sadly.

A general election would not be likely happen any time soon because if it did, and following the trajectory of the current state of play where polling is concerned, the Conservatives would almost certainly face a wipeout at the ballots.

As I alluded to in my previous piece, the numbers are not looking in Sunak's favour at the minute and it's unclear what - if anything - will shift the mood in Britain. The stasis in the polls indicates most people want 'change' - even if it does not appear to matter too much what that ‘change’ might look like or who might deliver said ‘change’.

Almost everybody can see through how pathetic Sunak’s attempts are to paint opposition parties as 'unfit to govern', too. Especially if the multitude of reasons behind why polling is so poor for the Conservatives is taken into account that has led the majority of Britain into subscribing to the ABC of Politics - or, ‘Anyone but Conservative’.
