In recent months there have been numerous stories discussing MPs - Conservatives ones - who have decided that they would rather be spending more time with their constituents than spending time in Westminster.

There are two reasons for this:

The most obvious being that the party is on election war footing and some of the more 'insecure' MPs are sensing the need - more than ever - to schmooze their constituents into voting for them.

The second reason is because they're utterly terrified that no matter the amount of schmoozing, will not save them from what - it seems at this current trajectory - feels like the clutches of a landslide defeat that some Conservatives have openly said they deserve.
