So I couldn’t help but notice the by-elections went really badly for you, Prime Minister
Following the week where the dust was beginning to settle on Boris Johnson’s vote of no confidence, the Prime Minister decided to try and relaunch ‘Brand Boris’.
Judging by the results in Wakefield and Tiverton & Honiton, it did not succeed.
This page lampooned his attempt at the relaunch here.
Of the many ways the Prime Minister attempted to relaunch ‘Brand Boris’, he took the advice - this page believes - of Tory Party chair Oliver Dowden in focussing on ‘wedge issues’ to both placate, divide, galvanise and just plain irritate the electorate.
He may have also taken the advice of Lynton Crosby acolyte Isaac Levido, too [as The Times suggests, also].
But there was problem: nobody really fell for it and it did not really appear to cut through.
Strap in; it’s a fairly long and bumpy ride.
