In case you missed it, new Prime Minister Liz Truss downgraded her planned emergency budget, which was pencilled in for next week, to a “fiscal event” in order to avoid scrutiny by the Office for Budget Responsibility.

This - by the way - happened several weeks ago; before the death of the Queen and thus had all the potential to be a main feature in the news.

It would have been quite an important one, too.

The reason being that up until now, we have not seen any costings in relation to the Government’s planned ‘cost of living crisis’ measures; nor an ‘exit strategy’.
