The journalist’s name is Daria Kaleniuk - she is a journalist for the Anti-Corruption Action Centre. 

Holding back the tears, Daria gave an impassioned speech to Boris Johnson during a press conference being held in Poland that revealed much about Boris Johnson - and perhaps one of his major fundamental weaknesses as a Prime Minister. 

When obfuscation does not work in trying to appeal to voters - as it did when he implemented it during all of those Covid press briefings with a matey chuminess - ‘levelling with’ people is a task made impossible by the feeling that Boris Johnson lacks a particular part, intrinsic to most people’s personalities, in the form of empathy. 

He wasn’t dishonest with Daria, however. 

The Prime Minister responded to her pleas with an open-ness that we, in this country, are perhaps unused to. 

He responded rationally.
